Ferry guide

Split to Korčula Ferry

Two routes, two different arrival points. Which one matters depends on whether you have a car and where you're staying.

The two routes

Split → Korčula town (Krilo)
Journey: 3h 15min Type: Catamaran (via Hvar) Cars: No Frequency: 1–2 daily
Split → Vela Luka (Jadrolinija)
Journey: 3h Type: Car ferry Cars: Yes Frequency: 1–2 daily

Korčula town vs Vela Luka

Korčula town is the old walled city on the east end of the island — where most visitors want to be. Vela Luka is a pleasant harbour town on the west end, 40 minutes away by road.

The Krilo catamaran drops you directly in Korčula town harbour. The Jadrolinija car ferry goes to Vela Luka, which means an extra bus or taxi if you're heading to the old town. If you're travelling without a car, the catamaran is almost always the right choice.

The Orebić crossing

A third option: drive or take a bus to Orebić on the Pelješac peninsula, then take the 15-minute car ferry across to Korčula town. This is the fastest connection if you're already driving along the coast. The ferry runs frequently and takes cars. Orebić sits directly across the channel from Korčula town — the crossing is short enough that you can see the old town walls from the Orebić quay.

Connections onward

The Krilo catamaran continues from Korčula to Lastovo on some routes. If you're island-hopping south, check whether your catamaran continues — it can save backtracking to Split.
